Happy New Year 2017

Iain Tym

Dear All,

I very much hope that you had a good Christmas and that you are looking forward to the New Year celebrations, and in every sense of the word, a prosperous 2017 thereafter.

Both David and Barney are currently immersed in hosting duties in the Algarve with the New Year tour groups.  Jennie is working frantically in the background keeping the web-site up to date, as we are endeavouring to have the full 2017 portfolio of events live by early January, which will enable you to effectively plan which events might be of interest.

As we turn the page onto a new year, we wanted to send out a summary of the availability for the forthcoming months, and to highlight which trips in the summer, autumn and winter might need booking earlier than others, due to demand and limited availability.

For the next three months, we have a couple of places still available on the two January events in Spain, and places available on the 4th March Eastern Algarve Golf Week, the 11th March Tavira Golf & Coaching week and the 25th March San Lorenzo Golf Week with Golf Clinics.  The available places on these last two events though, are beginning to diminish.  For April and May, there are places available on all but David’s 1st April San Lorenzo week.  That said, the Easter weekend is now starting to fill up, and if you are interested in that weekend, early booking would now be recommended.

Moving into the summer, the ever popular Italian trip has now been launched, which is a 10 night, two centre stay in the Piedmont region of the Country.  As ever, our colleagues in Italy have come up with a mouth-watering itinerary, combining golf, cuisine and wine.  The annual Italian tour is always popular, and can be booked in its full duration, or for a reduced duration if preferred.  Please do keep an eye on the availability though, as this trip is always one of our most popular ones.  David’s July Lincolnshire trip has virtually sold out, but we have now put a second trip on to accommodate the demand, which takes place a week later in early August; hence there is still the opportunity to join David for rounds at Woodhall Spa and other courses in the vicinity.  All of the UK Golf & Coaching and Golf Academy weekends are also now on the web-site.  Although they tend not to fill until closer to the dates of the events, some of the weekends do fill quicker than others, and we will keep you alerted to their availability over the coming months.

For the autumn period, David has trips to Cork in Ireland and to Prague in September (details coming soon) and then two weeks in Porto in October, one being a Golf & Coaching Week, the other a Golf Week.  The details for Prague and Porto though, are not yet on the web-site, although will be imminently as we are only waiting for some minor detail before finalising the events.  Barney has a trip to Bulgaria in September, which at first glance might appear unusual, but the quality of the golf is quite exceptional.  In November, David heads off to Arizona, and this tour has generated immense interest and indeed a considerable number of bookings already.  If you are interested in this tour, early booking is recommended.  Barney will have two weeks in Tenerife, a Golf & Coaching week and a Golf Week, details of which will appear on the web-site very shortly.

Leaping forward a year, we come to the Christmas and New Year events, which are always so very popular.  David will be hosting the usual dual combination of Christmas at the Robinson Club in Tavira and New Year at the Tivoli Marina Hotel in Vilamoura.  If you do wish to book these events, please commit early, as the places are taken so quickly, primarily due to the number of clients who book these tours year on year.  We are also providing a long-haul alternative next December, to Thailand, with 12 nights in Phuket, playing the best courses on the Island, and two nights in Asia’s shopping and cultural heartland of Bangkok.  With the Thai climate at its best in December (cloudless skies and 30 odd degrees), the exceptional quality of the golf courses, the sightseeing tours and the hotels, the tour should provide a tempting alternative to Christmas and New Year at home.

If you do wish to book any of the events, or if you have any queries or require further information about them, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Have a fantastic New Year’s Eve celebration and a most healthy and prosperous 2017.

Thank you always for your interest and bookings, which we are forever grateful.

All the very best from us all at David Short Golf

Iain
