Staverton Park Golf and Coaching Blog 5 – 8 Aug 2016
We all arrived on Friday with the sun shining and a forecast for an excellent weekend. After our introductions we headed straight to the range for our initial warm up and demonstration of some of our “swing building” exercises. After looking at everyone’s swing and learning their thoughts, we broke for lunch and then headed on to the front nine at Staverton. A good days was had by all and we were all on best behaviour that evening as Mrs P joined us. Jennie came for the weekend to take part in the golf and coaching and like everyone else have her game tuned up for upcoming golf challenges.
Saturday morning we worked on what I had seen on the course the previous day and after a coffee break we worked on chipping and pitching. We had an informal team competition, which although informal, I can inform you that Rosemary and Jennie formally won it!
Sunday morning we did some more fine tuning on the range and then sand shots and putting were on the agenda. One of these subjects is always well received, the other not, so I will leave it to you to work out which way round it is!
Sunday golf was fun as the weather continued to be brilliant and we all glowed afterwards. Monday we had our class room review, which was interesting and then on to the range for our farewell session. A really good group and I felt a very successful Golf and Coaching session.
All the best
Barney

Just back from Staverton and we both enjoyed the coaching course and feel sure we’ll see an improvement to our games. Please pass on our thanks to the Golf Monthly Posterboy.
Barney is an excellent coach and able to communicate with players of all levels of ability and experience. My sister and niece are both novices and they were thrilled with the opportunity to learn so much during the morning coaching and then go on to play on the course in the afternoon. When the rest of us collapsed and went off to the bar they carried on, real stalwarts!
It was also lovely to meet Jennie, such a kind and cheerful person and a good partner on the golf course!
Great to see all the new events on the website, so we can start planning for next spring.
I really enjoyed the weekend with everyone and nice to have some coaching time with BP. I didn’t play while I was away in Florida and needed to get my game back on track so the coaching sessions and playing really helped. Meeting everyone was brilliant and a tip for you all – Rosemary is an excellent partner!!
I know I am “staff” but thoroughly recommend these sessions for tidying up your game.
