On Sunday, we spent some time on the range and hopefully found some epiphanies to help our golf this week! Highlight of the evening were some jolly German guests thinking I looked like Jim Furyk and then (admittedly three sheets to the wind) convincing the resort manager, who then wanted me to go on the Hall of Fame for famous people who have visited Robinsons.
Monday we played earlier, which wasn’t a chore as there was a pleasant breeze (if there’s no wind, there’s no golf!) and sun in the 70’s. Some good golf in patches by everyone and shot of the day a stellar 4 iron into said breeze by Tim on the 9th. Went to work on the range afterwards and so a productive day.
Tuesday – Ho Hum another gorgeous day in the 70’s hurrah! Started by honing our short game skills in readiness for today’s challenge on the course, that of seeing how many shots we take from 75 yards and in. I find this is illuminating and keeps us trying even if the previous part of the hole didn’t live up to expectations. With this in mind shot of the day, Charles’ audacious lob shot, “Mickelson style” which he nominated and executed with considerable aplomb. The other highlight for those of you who know the Cima course, three of us actually hit the green, which at 185 yards into the wind and over water was pretty decent.
Wednesday was our day off and various forms of sun and food worship took place.
Thursday – good session on a breezy range and for the only time this week temperatures fell below 70. So playing the Ria course by the sea was a true links experience.
Friday we played early and again no one in front or behind, millionaires golf for us.
Another great week at the Robinson Club.
All the best
