Our opening day was at the excellent Tadmarton Heath Golf Course. The course was in excellent condition with the greens particularly quick. There are some interesting approaches and everyone had some challenges as the ball was running off into some well placed adjacent bunkers.
We had a pairs event and the scoring was very close. Rosemary and Phil came in with 39 points only to be matched by Mary and Steve. However, trumping both of them by a point was Vanessa and Richard with an excellent 40 points to win the day. Back to the nicely appointed Cotswolds Hotel for an excellent dinner and the odd glass of wine.
Second day, we went to the golf destination that is Frilford Heath. Blessed with 63 holes, an impressive clubhouse and a state of the art Pro Shop, it is an amazing venue. The welcome and service there were exceptional and really added to our experience. Golf today was on the Blue Course, where local knowledge said to avoid the water on the first three holes, then you were fine for the rest of the round. We did our best to follow the advice and everyone enjoyed their golf. Waltzing Matilda was the format and Lisbeth, Phil and Richard ran out comfortable winners on a tricky day, with the course playing very long after overnight rain, Sadly the rain scuppered our last game at Cotswold Hills, so we will look to 2021 to play there as we are definitely returning to this excellent area for golf.
All the best
