It is with great anticipation that we are returning to Turkey, and this staying at the Gloria Verde Resort, which is one of the founder resorts for golf in the Belek region of Turkey. I am delighted to confirm that the tour will be co-hosted by Sam Head again. For those clients who have not yet met Sam, she is a former European Ladies Tour player, who spent 15 successful years on the tour, winning six prestigious titles. Since her time on the tour, Sam has become a leading qualified PGA Coach, and has agreed to join the ‘David Short Golf’ team for various events each year.
This is a snippet of Sam’s philosophy to the game:
To improve your game, don’t just focus on the swing. The shots for 40 yards and less are just as important and you have to be great from 6 feet and less as well so that when you hit a good shot, you hole the putt too! So my message is that, yes, the long game matters but in golf you need a complete set of skills. This takes time, so a golf and clinic programme with a trusted coach is a great way to get lasting improvement.
We will be playing the three Gloria courses during the week, and Sam and I will also provide Golf Clinics on each of the golfing days. With the courses and coaching facilities all on-site, a super hotel, All-inclusive terms and pleasant warm autumn sunshine, an excellent week should be in store.

Overview
THE GLORIA VERDE HOTEL, Belek
Located adjacent to the 45 holes of the Gloria Golf Club and the sister hotels of the Gloria Serenity and Gloria Golf Hotels, the Gloria Verde Resort & Spa is the most modest, calm and comfortable of the three resorts on the complex. Set amongst the pine trees and overlooking the beautiful Belek coastline, the fabulous five-star Gloria Verde Resort & SPA has a total of 293 well appointed rooms, which are all are equipped with a balcony or terrace, air conditioning and satellite television. Guests can enjoy dining in the hotel’s superb buffet restaurant or choose to dine in one of the great A La Carte restaurants. The hotel has a wonderful outdoor pool bordered by beautifully landscaped gardens as well as an indoor pool, a well-equipped gym, tennis courts, a thalasso therapy centre and an excellent spa.
GLORIA GOLF CLUB – OLD COURSE
The Old Course with its 63 bunkers combined with the seven lakes makes this an excellent test of golf for all types of golfer. With fairways enveloped by trees and awe-inspiring vistas of the Taurus Mountains, this course beckons you to mold with nature while putting your skills to the ultimate test. The course has hosted over 20 international pro and amateur tournaments, including the Beko European Seniors Golf Tournament in 1998, 2000 and 2001.
GLORIA GOLF CLUB – NEW COURSE
The New Course resembles the Old Course in look and feel, only the New Course is a little shorter with wider fairways and fewer trees making it the easier of the two resort courses. In May 2007, the European Seniors Tour was held here to rave reviews and there are plans to host the tournament once again in the near future. Off the Pro tees, the course is a real test, but with several teeing options, you can make your test as difficult as you wish.
GLORIA GOLF CLUB – VERDE COURSE
The Verde Course, one of the top nine-hole courses in all Europe, is located among natural pine trees and lakes. Both seasoned pros and amateurs are at home on the Verde Course as it offers both challenging holes to test the game, as well as holes that are designed to help improve technique.

The Gloria experience extends beyond the three courses. The Gloria Golf Training Academy and its practice facilities are Turkey’s largest, featuring 48 covered bays, six grass tee areas, five putting greens, six bunker greens, and seven pitching and chipping greens. Here, you can sharpen every facet of your game under the watchful eyes of Barney and Sam.

Booking Procedure
To book a place or places on any of the David Short Golf events, please just use the Enquire Now button and complete the Online Enquiry form.
Iain and his team will then book your place(s) and send your confirmation details within 24 hours. With the initial confirmation details, will come a request for a deposit, which is £50.00 per person for UK events, £150.00 per person for European overseas events and £250.00 per person for longer haul holidays.
Two months prior to the commencement of each event, you will be sent an invoice for the balance of your booking, with an acknowledgement of the payment once received. Two weeks prior to commencement of the event itself, you will be sent a Travel Pack, which will include the contact details for David or Barney, the transport arrangements where applicable, the itinerary for the event, contact details for the accommodation, as well as the names of the other members attending the event.
David or Barney will then meet you on the day of arrival.
