The Hotel Inglaterra which was very apt for an English group was our base in Seville for the week , and could not have been more central to the wonderful old part of the City. Not only the location superb but so was their tapas offering and a terrific if breezy roof bar.
Our first days golf was at Zaudin and Linda, Tom and Hazel accumulated 76 points to win the day which celebrated with a glass of tizer 😋. We had super tasting menu and an all you can drink offering ( at DSG we’re never offered that option twice ! ) in the wonderful Betis 7 Triana Restaurant with a fabulous view across the river .
Despite the previous evening there were clear heads all round as we tackled the excellent Real Club Sevilla designed by the equally excellent Jose Maria Olazabel . This was a great test of golf with lightening quick greens and a grandstand water filled finish. Richard, Rosemary and Hazel found the setting to their liking and their 78 points lapped the field!
The next day we spent the morning on a walking tour of Seville’s City centre , which was amazing. The cathedral is truly majestic as is the Giralda Tower. We finished off naturally enough with some tapas which was very welcome as walking around in a non golf setting I find more tiring! Although in the afternoon some of our group toured the inside of the cathedral or walked up to the top of the tower!
We then played the Manuel Pinero designed Hato Verde course which was an interesting layout with a quirk on the front nine of three par threes in a row which did wonders for our scores . On the second of these I witnessed one of the best chip and runs I’ve ever seen by Rosemary threading it 45 yards via slopes, reeds, ponds to tap in range!
A day out to Sherry Golf in Jerez was our next venue , and nice to see some of the countryside on the way. Quite a hilly course with a decent water offering , however Tom, Richard, Rosemary and Liz negotiated it comfortably to win the day.
After dinner each evening the visit to the ice cream parlour was par for the course and there were some very artistic offerings to be had too. It was such a treat to have a stroll round with this delicious piece of art , although I did note they never lasted very long!
The final day was a full one as after revisiting Zaudin GC we took in an excellent flamenco show with some very passionate dancing. Our final dinner was at the super Italian Restaurant San Marco in a unique setting of the 12th century Arabic Baths.  A great way to finish a wonderful week and I look forward to when we next return to this special City .
