Tavira Golf and Coaching – November 2015

Sunday was our first coaching day of the golf and coaching and we worked on our warm up routines, swing shape and improving our ball striking.

On Monday we played in glorious sunshine with a warm light breeze.  Back in the UK hurricane Barney was about to wreak havok and in Tavira Golf Pro Barney was setting about passing on a few pearls of golfing wisdom!  We had a great day on the course and after a 5 wood lay off Michael Flynn produced some super shots and start as he meant to go on with a couple of pars.

Tuesday brought an early start and the sun glinting off the sea on the beautiful Quinta da Ria was well worth the effort of getting up.  We looked at our games from 75 yards and in and saw how that can smarten our scores up no end.  Bryan played particularly well and racked up an impressive 38 points and if a few putts hadn’t hung on the lip it could have been into the 40’s. Evening wise we had a super show with the talented staff putting on a slick performance.  As the next day was our day off we took the opportunity to stay up after the witching hour!

Thursday was a good session on the range followed by a sunny afternoon on Quinta da Cima.  There was some good play all round but shot of the day was Chris Wright with a stellar hybrid cutting through the breeze on the awkward 8th to 3feet.  Tea and Sauna’s followed the days play, so considering the UK is very wet and windy we felt very happy with our lot.

We spent an hour on the range on Friday to recap on the week and then onto Quinta da Ria for the last time and probably last bit of warm sunshine for all of us until well into next year.  A great finish to the week with the final hole yielding a gross birdie and a net eagle!  We were just in time for an excellent Robinson’s pancakes and afternoon tea.  So a grand day out and a good week all round.
