Tavira Golf & Coaching 11 March 2017

Having just returned from the 11th March Tavira Golf and Coaching Week, Portugal.
As you may recall, I very nearly booked the Madeira week in Nov 2016 but my apprehension of coming alone prevented me from doing so.  Well what a missed opportunity that was.

On arrival at the Robinson Club, Tavira, a warm and welcoming Barney was there to greet us when alighting the mini bus following the airport transfer. He personally showed me to my room and gave me a quick breakdown of the week ahead. All my fears / apprehensions were then instantly allayed. At the welcoming dinner it was obvious that there were numerous other single travellers, all with the same goals as myself, to improve our golf in a great resort setting.

The Robinson Club was truly excellent, from the facilities, staff, my room and superb all inclusive food and drink (Mainly Radler, cappuccino and Coke in my case)
I cannot attempt to pour enough praise onto Barney for his skill and ability as a host, organiser, cat hearder and golf coaching professional.
He recognised my issues / quirks after seeing just couple of shots on the range the 1st morning (He instantly recognised i was a righty who plays as a lefty – sort of Micklesonesq without the skill) and worked with me all week to correct and noticeably improve my game.

Warming up correctly, practice drills and ideas, putting, chipping, pitching, mid irons, Fairway Woods, Driving, pre shot routine, mental game and in-play course managment – I welcomed making notes every evening to ensure i captured all of the great drills and advice.

On return to the UK, I was up early Sunday to play at my clubs 7am roll up and shot my best medal round with Barneys imparted knowledge and technique ringing in my ears.
I cannot thank you guys and especially Barney enough and I will definitely be booking up to attend another coaching week at some point.

Thank you so much

A Big Thank you – La Quinta Golf & Coaching January 2017

Hi David

Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for the truly excellent January coaching week at La Quinta in Puerto Banus. Your coaching was first class, with small (bite size) adjustments to my swing that were (relatively!) easy to incorporate, whilst at the same time producing immediate and noticeable benefits. The week overall was great fun and very well organised, and as a newcomer it was reassuring to see that most of the group had been on your golfing breaks many times before. I will certainly be joining you again before too long!
Thank you once again

La Quinta Golf & Coaching 14 January 2017

Thanks very much for giving me a mention and it was a pleasure to be part of this trip.
My first and definitely not my last. From the initial booking to coming home the communication from yourselves has been spot on and the whole trip went to plan.

Thanks to David and Liz who made us all feel welcome, organized each golf day well and found us some lovely courses to play golf.

The hotel and places to dine out were also very good.

So thanks to every one involved.

Porto Golf & Cuisine October 2016

Dear David/Iain, my apologies for not responding to date to thank you for the golf trip in Portugal. Great week of organisation which helped in every way of getting to meet everyone on the trip. The golf was varied and each day was eventful. It was clearly easy to see you have established people/friends who travel on your trips on a regular basis. Full credit to your company in achieving this level of comradeship/club atmosphere!!
I wish you all a merry xmas and all the best for 2017!!!

Porto Golf & Cuisine October 2016

I have been remiss in writing to you. I wanted to thank you for the wonderful experience in Portugal. I was impressed at how well organized it was. I loved the fact that all the little details (baggage handling, transfers, golf and food ) were completely taken care of by others. It was an extremely pleasant experience. It was an added bonus to have been with such a lovely group of people. Being first timers, we were well received and suitably entertained. Thanks to you and your staff for all the hard work in making this happen. It was a very memorable trip, we especially loved Guimareas. Here are a few photos. I took others but they were just of the scenery, not people shots.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

Sri Lanka Golf Tour November 2016

The tour was superb and the group worked well. All accommodation was excellent I think Shangri-La was my favourite. The courses were interesting and with caddies and ball spotters it was a dream.

Very very enjoyable David.

Sri Lanka Golf Tour – November 2016

this tour was absolutely first class, the courses were a challenge to all while the first was a new course, it will only get better as it matures. whilst the other courses built in turn of the century were magnificent.

All hotels were excellent and the standard of service second to none

We were fortunate to have a great group on tour and we all stuck together and enjoyed the tour immensely.

Tenerife Golf Tour – November 2016

This was a great week of golf in the sun, competition, companionship and fun. Well done Barney and Jennie for hosting. Sorry that we lost you halfway through Jennie but glad to hear that things are improving in Orlando. This was my first DSG abroad and I will be back in 2017. We were all winners in the end thanks to Barney’s imaginative winning categories! Thanks once again and look forward to seeing you all again.

Porto Golf & Cuisine 15 October 2016

What a wonderful experience I had with lively golfers, a great tour leader and a superb hotel. The golf was also excellent, Vidago being a very nice course, and Estela was a real challenge – too much for me. My thanks to all the players for their delightful companionship and for a wonderful week. I am looking forward to La Cala in April next year. A special thanks to Iain for his precise itinerary and organization of the transfers – well done!

Porto Golf & Coaching 15 October 2016

Just to say thank you for the great week in Portugal. Weather could have been kinder but the hotel and staff were superb and we both enjoyed the courses. The day trip to Porto was also excellent. Vidago was a very strange place with lots of dilapidated buildings and not much of a town to wander and explore but the hotel and its grounds more than made up for it and we did manage to find a cafe where two large coffees and and two custard tarts only cost €2.70! Looking forward to our next trip in January.
