A full house for the latest Golf and Coaching event at Staverton and an International field included German, Thai, Japanese (albeit resident at present in London) and as far a field as Cornwall and Edinburgh from the UK. Staverton Park is very central and while the latter two mentioned are further away, very accessible being within 2 hours from most parts of the UK.
A big thank you to Tim Frosdick an attendee for several years and now playing off 9, for introducing, yet again, several new people to this weekend. Tim and 3 or 4 others were moving forward from past events, picking up on new snippets, as well as being put back on track with reoccurring faults. It is always rewarding to “get the message over” to first timers and see them optimistic and motivated to take what they have learned home to work with in the coming months.
It is worth reminding everyone that one of the tricks of playing this game is to recognise our faults and learn the fixes. Recognise them returning as they inevitably do, and recalling the practice routines and swing thoughts that helped in the past. We should be accepting of the fact that this will happen. Good practice will help eradicate some and we can certainly move forward both technically and scoring wise. But our natural way of swinging always comes back to haunt us when we get over confident or lazy!!
