• Overview

    The Weetwood Hall Hotel, Leeds

Set within nine acres of beautiful woodlands and gardens, and built around a 17th Century Jacobean Manor House, the Weetwood Hall Hotel provides exceptional 4-star services and facilities.  The hotel is located on the norther fringe of the City, with easy access to the four Golf Clubs within the golf tour programme. Dinner will be taken in the hotel each evening and we then have the option of migrating to the Stables Pub, which is on-site.  Converted from the original stable of the 17th Century Manor House in the original cobbled courtyard, the Stables Pub is brimming with character and charm, as well as ‘award-winning’ Cask Marque real ales!

    Moor Allerton Golf Club

Moor Allerton Golf Club is a 27-hole Robert Trent Jones Sr designed golf course, which blends beautifully with the surrounding West Yorkshire landscape.  Many famous players have walked the fairways in the days when the PGA European Tour came to the Club.  Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Greg Norman, Brian Barnes, Tom Weiskopf and Tony Jacklin, to name but a few and legends in their own right.  Over a number of years, Ryder Cup player Howard Clark was attached to Moor Allerton Golf Club as the playing professional.  Peter Alliss, who was the Head Professional in the early 70’s, reckons that ‘Moor Allerton Golf Club is a golfing experience larger than life’.  Not only therefore is the course a wonderful playing experience, but one that has been frequented over the years by the top names in golf.

    Sand Moor Golf Club

Created in 1926 and situated 5 miles north of Leeds City Centre, with stunning views over Eccup reservoir, the Sand Moor golf course is one that must be played.  The course is particularly well known for its four, challenging par 3’s, each of which varies in length, style and offers a different challenge.  Sand Moor is an Alister MacKenzie designed course, who sat on the very first Greens Committee at the club, and who famously went on to design the Augusta National.

    Moortown Golf Club

Founded in 1909, Moortown is a well-known around the World as the host of the first Ryder Cup match on British soil, in 1929.  Indeed, Moortown is regarded by many as one of the Country’s finest inland golf courses.  The course is a classic heathland / moorland layout.  The Fairways appear wide and inviting, many of the holes are flanked by gorse, heather and trees. Don’t be fooled though, Moortown is no push-over, the course is tough but exciting. The Course measures just over 6,500 yards from the standard tees and 7,000 yards from championship. Having hosted the Ryder Cup and many Professional Tournaments over the years with winners such as Nick Faldo and Bernard Gallagher, Moortown has an enviable history to match its superb course.

    Leeds Golf Club (Optional Round)

Leeds Golf Club, founded in in 1896, was the original home of the oldest trophy in professional golf, The Leeds Cup, holders of which range from Harry Vardon to Howard Clarke.  Commonly known as Cobble Hall, Leeds Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland golf course situated on the north side of Leeds.  The golf course’s par of 69 is rarely beaten even in scratch competitions.  Despite being only four miles from the centre of the city, the golf course has a distinctly rural feel.  A fitting end to a tour that is rich in quality both in terms of playing experience and the heritage of golf.
