    Coxmoor Golf Club

Coxmoor Golf Club is a magnificent heathland course, and a must-play course for golfers playing in Nottinghamshire.  Recently accredited by England Golf as a Championship Venue, Coxmoor has been an Open Qualifying course, has held the British Boys Championship, British Seniors Championship and most recently the English Seniors Championship and the Brenda King Foursomes, a prestigious ladies’ senior event.  As part of the Club’s ongoing improvements, the Club have engaged Ken Brown and Ken Moodie to suggest architectural changes that will further enhance this fine course.  The friendly service and great value provided in the Clubhouse, is consistently recognised by all the visitors welcomed to Coxmoor, where the Club assure you of a great day, with golf on a superbly maintained, very interesting and constantly evolving golf course

    Sherwood Forest Golf Club

Sherwood Forest Golf Club is a long established and highly renowned heathland course alongside the pines, silver birch and oak trees of Clipstone Woods, within the legendary Sherwood Forest.  The Club is very proud of its reputation as one of the oldest and finest heathland golf courses in Great Britain and is currently rated 84th best in the British Isles and 35th in England. The course was initially designed by Harry Colt and subsequently enhanced by James Braid.  The English Golf Union, when staging the 2006 England Boy’s Amateur Stroke Play Championships, described Sherwood Forest Golf Club as being ‘in a league of its own’. As a premier course the Club has hosted many national competitions over the years, including the ‘British and English Seniors’ and regional qualifying for the ‘Open Championship’.  A true Championship course of 6,806 yards awaits us with none of the modern water hazards but 98 bunkers of local sand and long carries over punishing swathes of heather.  As a general rule the Club is renowned for its ‘most excellent’ greens and a long, demanding turn for home.

    Notts (Hollinwell) Golf Club

Simply one of England’s best golf courses. Golfers who find their way to Hollinwell know they have arrived at a special place from the moment they turn the final bend on the long driveway to the Club and see a magnificent view of the course and imposing Clubhouse ahead of them. Set in the gently rolling hills of north Nottinghamshire, in the heart of Robin Hood County, Hollinwell offers one of the very finest examples of heathland golf in the UK & Ireland. FineGolf superbly covered the story of the Club, about the enjoyment and tribulations encountered as Hollinwell broke through to the sunny uplands of an Open Championship Final Qualifying venue, hosting the Brabazon Trophy for a fifth time and a possible Walker Cup venue, while also giving its membership and visitors the highest ‘joy to be alive’ feeling. Golf Club Atlas founder, Ran Morrissett, just ranked Hollinwell 31st of 147 courses worldwide “that embrace the simple virtues of the game” on his list of Custodians of The Game. The main qualifying criteria is “When you walk off the 18th green, you should feel invigorated rather than exhausted, and the allure of returning to the 1st tee is strong”. A round at Hollinwell will live long in the memory.
