• Overview

Situated on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya receives millions of visitors annually.  Indeed it is one of the fastest growing tourist towns in the world.  Legendary for its night life, there are 21 golf courses located within the vicinity of the town, many of which are amongst the best in Thailand.

    Welcome to Pattaya
From the cultural wonderland of Siem Reap we enter into Thailand’s unrivalled party land. Pattaya certainly provides the extremes; the opportunity for a quiet relaxing holiday by the glistening Gulf of Thailand, through to the somewhat bizarre
experience of Pattaya’s famous nightlife. In truth, Pattaya will be what you want it to be and the town caters for one and all. Our hotel, the 5 Star Royal Cliff Grand Hotel, is set in a quiet location with magnificent views across the sea to Coral Island. One of the top hotels in Pattaya, the Hotel fulfils every expectation that comes with
a 5 star hotel, with superb facilities, a number of restaurants, excellent rooms and impeccable service. The hotel also boasts a luxurious spa and a renowned Thai Cooking School.

    Burapha Golf Club
Burapha Golf Club, previously a member’s only course, has hosted several professional tournaments including the 2010 Thailand Open. The 36 holes at Burapha have been designed to take full advantage of the beauty of the land and
its natural features – lakes, hills, palms trees and tropical vegetation, are all skillfully landscaped. With lush, verdant Thai countryside and jungleclad hills all around, Burapha is home to 36-holes of links and parkland style golf. The American (A)
and British (B) nines are parkland in style, whilst the Crystal (C) and Dunes (D) nines are more open links style layouts.Pattaya-640x4All four nines at Burapha give the opportunity to look across the valley to the impressive clubhouse of Laem Chabang Golf Club, which we will visit later in the week, but on the Dunes nine the views get more spectacular than that. The highest point on the Burapha property is between the 6th and 7th holes on the Dunes course. Here one is rewarded with a breathtaking panorama across the surrounding countryside. The Pattaya high rise condominiums, the Laem Chabang port, the ocean and large offshore islands are all in clear view.

    St Andrews 2000 Golf Club
Working with a spectacular, undulating natural topography, English born golf course architect Desmond Muirhead has created one of Pattaya’s most interesting golf courses, as St Andrews was built to replicate a Scottish links course. Playing at over 7,700 yards to a par 74, this is a tough course. St Andrews features elevated tees and greens, tight landing zones, split elevation fairways, huge putting surfaces and while difficult to accept for the true golfer, two par 6’s, over 800 yards each! The back nine in particular has large elevation changes and views of the surrounding hillsides. The course demands a combination of both power and accuracy, with the strategic positioning of hazards forcing players to remain focused on each and every shot, as one error can be very costly. This course will test every club and trick in your bag, and leave you with lots of stories to tell your friends about a challenging round of golf that will create lasting memories.

    Laem Chabang International Country Club
Laem Chabang Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus designed championship course, is the best layout in Pattaya and one of Thailand’s finest courses. Laem Chabang is made up of 27 holes on 700 acres and makes use of three types of features which characterise
each of the 9 holes namely mountains, lakes and river valleys. Each type of terrain corresponds to a 9-hole course in a unique way, and as such each one is named Mountain, Lake and Valley.
The rolling hills of the surrounding countryside have been used to great effect, and hazards to stop you reaching greens are in abundance. Not only does the course have a lot of bunkers, sand traps and water hazards, there are also a lot of natural
hazards in the shape of exposed rock formations, lakes, ponds and creeks. Cleverly shaped holes skirt water hazards and tall coconut trees. Every tee is signed with a board describing a distinctive tree or shrub planted nearby to give the course a unique floral emphasis. The large, undulating greens are mostly elevated and protected by wide bunkers.
Beautifully maintained and presented, this is a golf course that effortlessly combines the man-made features and rich planting of flowers and shrubs, with the natural splendor of the surroundings hills, rocky outcrops and jungle vegetation. With many scenic views from the course, it all fuses harmoniously into a great golfing experience and one that is uniquely Asian.
