THE GOLF CLUBS
Black Bridge Golf Club
Opened in 2011, the Black Bridge Resort is the second 18-hole course in Prague and is located on the eastern side of the city. The course presents a super challenge and is always in very good condition. With a modern clubhouse, a warm welcome and an excellent round of golf, Black Ridge is the ideal course to commence our week in Prague.
Konopiste Golf Club
Konopiste Golf Club has a wonderful setting, with the course gently sloping and surrounded by forest. A characteristic feature of the course are the great, modelled greens. A beautiful, renovated chateau with a clubroom, reception, pro-shop as well as a restaurant is also a jewel of the resort. The entire resort was built up in cooperation with the Professional Golfers Association of Europe.
Albatross Golf Club
The Albatross golf course occupies an area of more than 80 hectares (197,684 acres) and is situated on a hillside bordering the Cesky Kras (Czech Karst) Nature Reserve. With an altitude of 420 metres (1377.95 feet) above sea level, the course benefits from a micro-climate and enjoys one of the longest golf seasons in central Europe. There are seven lakes on the course covering more than 20,000 square metres, 65 sand traps and more than 1,200 mature trees adorning the landscape.
Prague City Golf Club
The Prague City golf course, has its inspiration from the links courses of Scotland and Ireland. The designers included Alex Čejka, a German golf professional with Czech roots, and Jeremy Ford, an experienced British architect who has worked on the construction of many golf courses in both Europe and the USA. Alex’s and Jeremy’s ideas were translated into reality by Mick McShane, a shaper nicknamed ‘Leonardo da Vinci with an excavator’. The perfect impression of the course was completed by professionals from Engelmann, a German company guaranteeing the top quality of the course. And a super course it is to play as well.
Karlstejn Golf Club
The first 18 holes of Golf Resort Karlštejn were opened in 1993. The project originates from two Canadian golf architects, Les Furber and Jim Eremko. These two architects have been responsible for more than 70 golf courses around the world. Two of the most famous golf courses they have designed for and developed are the Valderama in Spain and the Varadero in Cuba. At Karlstejn, a very unique place was created, thanks to a careful, sensitive approach of integrating a golf course into a picturesque countryside, where the romantic scenery comprises of Karlstejn, one of the most famous of Czech castles and the residence of many Czech kings. With hilly landscape containing limestone rocks, rich fauna and flora, the golf course is an oasis of calmness and peace, which presents a fitting end to our week in Prague.

Each year we endeavour to present a venue for our golf week that is a little novel, and which presents the opportunity for some superb golf, but also to experience cities rich will culture and heritage. For the past two years’ we have travelled to Sweden, but this season we head to the Czech capital, Prague. A city full of history and character, and we will be staying right in the heart of it. We will also play five excellent rounds of golf. Please note however, that acquiring tee-times at a weekend is virtually impossible; hence the first full day on the Sunday will be a non-golfing day, with the opportunity to explore the city.
