• Overview

Hua Hin has become a real favourite with golfers visiting Thailand, as the quality of the courses in and around the town are quite something.  On our Golf Week we will play five rounds, with Banyan Golf Club and Black Mountain Golf Club two that will remain long in the memory.

If you wish to book a place on the Thailand Golf Tour, please let us know and we will send you the confirmation details accordingly.

    Palm Hills Golf Club

    ~ Breakfast

~ 18 holes Palm Hills Golf Club

Palm Hills Golf Club was the first international standard Hua Hin golf course and opened in 1992. The following year Palm Hills hosted to the inaugural Thailand World Pro Am tournament.  Palm Hills Golf Club is one of the best maintained courses in Hua Hin year in and year out. There is an abundance of beautiful landscaping throughout the golf course and at certain times of the year the course is enveloped in the exotic fragrance of the blooms from the frangipani tree lined fairways and whilst Palm Hills is one of the easier Hua Hin golf courses, the strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, with extremely fast Tiff Eagle greens ensure that good scores are by no means easy to achieve.

    Sea Pines Golf Course

    ~ Breakfast

~ 18 holes Sea Pines Golf Course

Sea Pines Golf Course, also known as the Army Golf Club II, is set along the Gulf of Thailand in the Suan Son Pradiphat (Sea Pine Tree Garden). The Hua Hin golf course has been creatively set within a large tract of land, which was originally owned by the Royal Forestry Department before being taken over by the Royal Thai Army under the rule of Field Marshall Sarit Thanarat, who served as prime minister of Thailand during 1957-1963.  The Sea Pines course design and layout have been developed to provide golfers with a wide variety of challenge. Depending on wind conditions, the course can play from relatively easy to very difficult. The course is designed with six holes lying on the beachside and the lies towards the mountains divided by the railroad.  A modern clubhouse overlooking the Gulf of Thailand serves up some great Thai food.

    Wednesday 7th March

          Springfield Royal Country Club

    ~ Breakfast

~ 18 holes Springfield Royal Country Club

The Jack Nicklaus designed Springfield Royal Country Club is rated as one of the best Hua Hin golf courses and the traditional Nicklaus layout is as good as they come.  Starting with a par-4, the first hole is a gentle 389 yards from the blue tees, and on appearance looks to be quite simple. Hopes can quickly fade, as the well protected green can prove difficult and requires accuracy. As we conclude our round, the par-5 18th and Springfield’s signature hole, requires one last perfect shot to a difficult island green.  The green is reachable in two by longer hitters and those with an ego!  If we hit a good drive over the trees of the dogleg left, then the green will be in sight for the second shot.  We just have to have a go, but beware, the shot is longer than it looks!

    Thursday 8th March

          Banyan Golf Club

    ~ Breakfast

~ 18 holes Banyan Golf Club

The world class Banyan 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Thailand golf course architect Pirapon Namatra from Golf East and is known to be one of the most natural in the country.  The course provides for spectacular mountain and ocean views from most all of the holes and is one of the best layouts in Hua Hin.  Each hole has 6 tee boxes making the course more or less challenging depending on each golfer’s ability and tee selection. Strategically placed water hazards, waste bunkers, and sand traps are spread out throughout the course. Significant use of native pineapple groves make local fruits come into play if straying too far off the fairways.

    Friday 9th March

           Black Mountain Golf Club

    ~ Breakfast

~ 18 holes Black Mountain Golf Club

We conclude the tour at the magnificent Black Mountain Golf Club.  Black Mountain was transformed from lush jungle and pineapple plantations and is located around 25 minutes west of Hua Hin.  It is set in a valley surrounded by large black granite rock covered mountains. The golf club was the site for Asian PGA tour events in 2009 and 2010 and the Europe versus Asia match play Royal Trophy in 2011.  In 2012 Black Mountain was selected as one of the 100 best golf courses outside the USA by Golf Digest magazine.  In 2014 Black Mountain hosted The Thailand Classic, the first European Tour event to be staged in Thailand.  The Thailand Classic, held also in 2015 and 2016, is now a major fixture on the European and Asian Tours.

We will have one last super dinner, before we have to pack up and prepare for the journey home.  Asia is quite unique and for so many good reasons, and I truly hope that this trip will prove to be a memorable one.
