The first round is at Perranporth Golf Club, with its spectacular setting on the north Cornish coast, followed by the mesmeric setting of Mullion Golf Club, overlooking Church Cove and Mounts Bay. On the Sunday you will play the equally stunning West Cornwall (Lelant) golf course, with its incredible views over St Ives Bay, and the tour will come to a conclusion with a round at Carlyon Bay, a super cliff top course on the south coast of Cornwall, which is close to the A30 in readiness for the journey home. The accommodation for the weekend is the 4 star Royal Duchy Hotel, one of the finest hotels in Cornwall, let alone Falmouth. The Royal Duchy has an unrivalled position on Falmouth’s lovely seafront, with glorious views across Falmouth Bay and towards Pendennis Castle. With luxury rooms, fine dining, and friendly and attentive staff, the Royal Duchy is a wonderful compliment to the weekend.

Friday 2nd October:
– 18 holes Perranporth Golf Club
– Check in to the Royal Duchy Hotel, Falmouth
– Dinner at the hotel
Perranporth Golf Club
Perranporth Golf Club is one of the finest links courses in Cornwall. With stunning views over the sea and the extensive golden sands below, few courses boast better settings than Perranporth. Once on the course, we should pause on the 5th and 14th tees and take in the truly spectacular scenery of which one could never tire. Taking advantage of the natural contours of the landscape, James Braid course designer, was successful in creating each hole with its own individual demands and character. Not only this, but the greens which are fast and absolutely true and have a reputation for being amongst the best in the South West. The course is both exciting and dramatic and a fine way to commence our weekend in Cornwall.
Saturday 3rd October:
– 18 holes Mullion Golf Club
– Dinner at the hotel
Just a few miles from the most southerly point on the British mainland, Mullion Golf Course epitomises the best of playing golf in Cornwall. The far reaching views across the Towans, the cliffs, the links holes, the beach and Gunwalloe Church, are simply magnificent. Lamorna and Mousehole can be seen across the ever changing seas of Mounts Bay, and the familiar sight of St Michael’s Mount viewed from a different angle from the cliff top tees. The setting is unrivalled. In terms of the course, although just over 6,000 yards off the white tees, do not be deceived, the course is a challenge. As with most coastal courses, the wind is a significant factor and accurate shot making is needed. With possibly the best greens in Cornwall we can be assured of a testing putt! However, any frustrations immediately fade away with the beauty of the surroundings.
Sunday 4th October:
– 18 holes West Cornwall Golf Club
– Dinner at the hotel
West Cornwall Golf Club is one of the finest links courses in Cornwall. The course was established in 1889, making it the oldest golf club in the Duchy and one that has won much acclaim. Peter Alliss is an honorary life member who always speaks very highly of the course and the warm welcome all can expect to receive. The course has a magnificent setting and has been moulded around the natural contours of the sand dunes that form part of the Hayle Estuary and Porth Kidney Sands. There are panoramic views from almost every hole with St. Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse forming a memorable backdrop to this gem of a links. West Cornwall is nearly always played in conditions that can range from a light breeze to a strong wind and is a true test of golf for golfers of all abilities. The course has undergone many improvements in recent years under the watchful eye of our Course Manager and his dedicated and capable team. Thanks to its sand base the drainage of the course is excellent and allows it to be played all year round with no winter tees or greens.
Monday 5th October:
– Check out of the hotel
– 18 holes Carlyon Bay Golf Club
The Cornwall Golf Tour weekend draws to a close at Carlyon Bay Golf Club. With 6,500 yards of challenging yet hugely enjoyable golf, the Par 72 course is one of the most stunning cliff top golf courses in Cornwall. The first 10 holes are played right on the cliff top and many of the 18 holes have breathtaking views across St Austell Bay. The remaining 8 holes are more parkland in nature as they bring us back to the Clubhouse. Carlyon Bay is one of the best maintained golf courses in Cornwall and the immaculate greens are in pristine condition throughout the year. A fitting end to what we hope will be a most enjoyable weekend.
