• Overview

Italy however, can be rather expensive. To keep the costs in check this year we are returning to one of our favourite destinations, Asolo, which is a sensibly priced region of Italy, north of Venice. For this golf week we will be staying on-site at the Asolo Golf Club, playing the Asolo course on three occasions, as well as rounds at Ca’Amata Golf Club and Villa Condulmer.

The terms of stay are dinner, bed and breakfast, and with super accommodation, 27 holes of golf on-site, excellent tuition facilities for the Golf Clinics and the town of Asolo less than 5 minutes away by taxi, we have the perfect location for our Italian Golf Week.

It is certainly worth visiting Asolo in the afternoons after the golf, as the old medieval streets are gorgeous with their Gothic arcades, facades decorated with frescos and beautiful balconies. Not only is Asolo worth exploring, but on the Wednesday we will embark on a day tour of Venice, taking in all of the famous landmarks and views. A wonderful Italian blend of culture, golf, cuisine, sightseeing and at a sensible price.

The Asolo Golf Club is set in a private park, 1.5 miles from the medieval town itself. The Golf Club features 27 holes of golf, an excellent golf school, an outdoor pool, a modern fitness centre complete with sauna, a tennis court and wonderfully appointed bedrooms. The rooms provide relaxing views of the golf course and are decorated with elegant furnishings. Each room is equipped with mini bar, corner free reception and a private bathroom with a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, as well as free wi-fi. Some of the rooms have a terrace. Each morning we will enjoy a buffet breakfast which is served on the veranda of the Clubhouse. The Club also has a wine and cocktail bar, which is open in the evenings.

A source of great pride for the Asolo Golf Club is the 28th Buca Restaurant, which is known for its fine regional cuisine. The menu is rich in variety and with top quality ingredients selected daily from Head Chef to present the very best Venetian tradition in every cuisine. The Restaurant has a wonderful location amidst the Duse room, the terrace and the porch, which is a lovely place to spend an evening spoiling the taste buds, regenerating ones spirit and reflecting on the day just past.

    Asolo Golf Club

Golf Asolo was commissioned by the Benetton family in 1993. The course lies on land at the foothills of the Alps and was previously covered in vineyards. The course comprises of 27 holes and has stretches of water, lakes and streams to make playing more interesting.

    Golf Club Ca Amata

The course is set within the park surrounding the Villa Ca’ Amata, one of the finest examples of 18th century Venetian architecture. Due to the great amount of water available, a lake and canal system was created that highlights eleven of the eighteen playing holes. These lakes and canals incorporate beautiful landscaping elements such as low walls, small bridges and cascades typical of the loveliest and most romantic parks, which create absolutely spectacular surroundings.

    The Villa Condulmer Golf Club

The golf course is the centre piece of 60 hectares of a beautiful natural environment. Built in two stages, the course is 5,900 metres long. The first nine holes, designed by John Harris, unwind through the age old flora of Villa Condulmer’s 18th century park. The second nine holes, designed by Marco Croze, are longer than the first. The greens are fast and well defended by strategically placed bunkers. The layout of the course is flat and not difficult and water is present on half of the holes.

Venice is of course one of the most iconic cities in the world and we will spend a good few hours there. With its breathtaking setting, rich musical and artistic cultural heritage, and simply the unique experience of the waterways, the gondola’s and the very essence of all that is day to day life in Venice, this is an experience that is difficult to forget. There are numerous attractions in Venice, with St Mark’s Basilica, the Grand Canal and the Piazza San Marco being three of the must do sights. We will make our way to Venice by train (included in the Golf week price) with a tour guide and have plenty of time to sight see, shop, eat and drink, as well as see the main sights. A superb day in one the world’s greatest Cities.
